Playa Sámara

The small, peaceful village of Sámara is located on the Pacific coast of Costa Rica, on the Nicoya Peninsula. It has about 3,000 inhabitants. In the village, as well as along the beach, you will find a wide selection of restaurants and bars serving local and international cuisine. Just steps away from Casa Coba, you can find a health-food shop, an organic market and a beauty salon. The village center provides a variety of grocery stores, souvenir shops, banks, tour operators, car, bike and ATV rentals, pharmacies and a doctor.

The picturesque, gently sloping beach, with its white sand, coconut trees and tropical vegetation is one of the most beautiful and safest beaches in all of Costa Rica. The natural coral reef and the beautiful, small, wooded and uninhabited “Chora Island" protects the bay from the strong waves and currents of the Pacific Ocean and makes Playa Sámara the ideal beach for the whole family. The 5 km long sandy beach is ideal for walking and jogging, or a cold beer in one of the many beach bars and restaurants.
